Measurements: 26 x 20 cm [paper], 40 x 40 cm [passepartout].
Visual Description: The Samaritan woman drawing water from the well and offering it to Jesus. First state (before the inscription CI Visscher excu). Engraved by Jacob Matham after Goltzius. Inscription at the bottom: "HGoltzius excud[it]. Aº 1589". Two Latin verses at the bottom of the print signed "F. Estius, Poscit aquam ...necis".
Condition: Short margins at the edge of the print's image and a tear on the lower left side at the back and middle of the figure of Jesus Christ.
Provenance: Print from the art collection of Gaspar de Haro y Guzmán, 7th Marquis of Carpio and Elche (1629-1687), a Spanish nobleman, diplomat, and politician. He was the son of fellow collector Luis de Haro and inherited a large collection of paintings which he progressively expanded with high-quality works.
