He is considered a graphic chronicler and landscape painter of great fame in 19th century Mexico. In the mid-19th century he published the work "Mexico y sus alrededores" with the main author being Casimiro Castro, with the participation of the artists Julián Campillo, Luis Auda and G. Rodríguez. This work includes 38 prints relating to Mexico City and its surroundings, of which 31 were the work of Casimiro Castro: they included aerial views captured from hot air balloons or from rooftops.
