    Physical description: Folio (30 cm.) 299 pages, Limited edition of 400 numbered copies on vellum paper with two woodcuts: one before the text on China paper and one between the text on vellum paper.

    Binding: Beautiful full leather binding in burgundy chagren, nerves and gilt on the spine. The inside covers are a visual spectacle. Made of dark green leather and richly decorated with intricate gilt motifs framing a central oval. Inside, a pair of crossed swords and a feather inlaid with red, green and white leather stand out, iconic elements that evoke the essence of Cyrano: the swordsman and the poet. These details are not only a tribute to the work, but also reflect the dedication and care of the artistic binding. Binding signed but illegible.

    Conservation: Good condition, light wear on the lower edges of the binding.

    Notes: Handwritten letter affixed to the book from Benoît-Constant Coquelin addressed to Leon Maillard. Known as Coquelin aîné, (January 23, 1841 - January 27, 1909) was a French actor, he reaped success with Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac (1897) reprising the role until his death, a total of 950 times. The letter looks like an invitation to an event.
