    Description: First scientific monograph on the Cave of La Peña de Candamo (Asturias), discovered in 1914 and declared World Heritage in 2008. It documents the most complex parietal ensemble of the Cantabrian region: superimposed panels of horses, deer and signs in red, black and sienna, engraved and scraped. Includes photographs, scale plans and sketches of each figure, plus a large folded plan of the cavity. Text illustrated with geological maps and stratigraphic analyses. Wood-engraved title page and ornamental head-pieces. Limited print-run; most copies were distributed among institutions, so complete copies on the market are scarce.

    Author: Eduardo Hernández-Pacheco (1872-1948), geologist and palaeontologist, president of the Royal Academy of Sciences.

    Condition: Copy reviewed: complete text and plates. Previous owner's stamp (Rafael Ariza).
